About

DoMAR main goal is to implement and develop efficient and sustainable technology that can supply the market with high quality microalgae biomass.

Funding

DoMAR is a 1.4 M€ project, that combines private investment with the generous contribution of public funds attributed by the EEA Grants under the Blue Growth programme in the value of  0.5 M€.

EEA Grants

Through the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA), Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway are partners in the internal market with the EU member states.
As a means of promoting a continuous and balanced strengthening of economic and trade relations and commercial relations, the parties to the EEA Agreement have established a multi-annual financial multi-annual financial mechanism, known as EEA Grants.
EEA Grants aim to reduce social and economic disparities in Europe and to strengthen bilateral relations between these three countries and the beneficiary countries.
For the period 2014-2021, a total contribution of €2.8 billion has been agreed 2.8 billion for 15 beneficiary countries. Portugal will benefit from a sum of €102.7 million.

Partners

DoMAR will be implemented in a partnership between our company and GreenTech Innovators AS (Norway), in close collaboration with the research group "Eco-Novel Food and Feed" of the Instituto Superior de Agronomia of the University of Lisbon. Together, we share the will to contribute for the development of the blue economy sector, based on a set of values focused on people, environment and a sustainable economy.

Main Goals

The project includes the installation of a state-of-the-art microalgae production unit in Algarve (Portugal), production and marketing of high-quality microalgae biomass, as well as research and development of the production model and new product applications.
